It’s ridiculously chilly this morning. I know that objectively it’s not all that cold – one of my Canadian friends yesterday mentioned wind chills to -40F, which utterly cemented my intent to never, ever move to Canada – but it’s been in the 40s in the mornings here, and this morning it was 16 degrees out. Naturally, the car was frosted over, so Chris went out and started scraping the ice off the windshield. I suggested turning the car on so that the heat of the engine (and the rear defrost) would help with the defrosting process; he allowed that perhaps having help would make for a better job of clearing the ice, and that perhaps he hadn’t had enough coffee yet.
Since I started Cottage Copy,a number of people have asked me why I haven’t offered consulting options. As it turns out, lots of people out there don’t need or want someone else to build a cottage for them – they already have copy written, or for various reasons, want to do it themselves. I admire these people. Copywriting isn’t easy, and it can be hard to write focused copy on your own. That said, I still want to help out.
In that spirit, I am now offering two-hour consulting sessions ($99 apiece) for those of you who would like to have a professional look at your copy from both a writing and a marketing perspective.
I’ve done two of these sessions in the past four days, and they’ve been a lot of fun for all parties involved, I hope. As a client said to me last night during one of these sessions, “It’s so much easier to think this through with someone else.”
