About the Team
Holly Jackson, tattoed writing genius
Want to know more about me? Here’s the quick version if you’re short on time.
I’m a well-published web copywriter and social media Girl-Friday living in the gorgeous and culture- rich city of Jackson, Mississippi. I’ve worked with everyone from ad agencies to shoestring etsy sellers to application developers with a quarter of a million dollar budget.
What do my clients have in common? They’re all forward thinking individuals who want to market in a natural and narrative way. If you think you might be one of them, you can find out more on this page. If you’d like to hear what they have to say about me, you can check out my portfolio.
In my free time, I like science fiction novels, Jane Austen, and oyster po boy sandwiches. When I’m not writing, you can find me at the park with my canine sidekick or exploring the local area.
Want the longer version, complete with soul-searching anecdotes? Just keep reading.
Once upon a time, I was a grant writer in the frigid midwest. I was 23, done school, and I was making $500 a month. I was really unhappy with things, to say the least. Right before my birthday, I broke. I decided that I could make the same amount per month doing pretty much anything, even something crazy like advertising writing. Cottage Copy was born one night late after work, and three weeks later I had my first client and I’d been published on a huge Forbes rated blog.
Two years later, I’m not a millionaire (It’s not one of those kinds of stories). The changes that I’ve been through were slower and more subtle than that. I still rent, but I live in a beautifully restored 1941 house with all the original fixtures. My dog eats good dog food. I love my job, and I frequently have the privilege of working with creative directors and business owners who seem to think I’m pretty damn good at it. I get to work with both amazing local businesses and online businesses as far away as New Zealand. I got to meet one of my business contacts in Paris once.
If you want to see more of my work, just go check out my portfolio page. I try and update it with new client testimonials and samples as often as I can. Want to know specifically how I can help you? Go check out what I can do if you hire me.
Sir Didymus, copy spaniel at large
Didy is the unofficial secretary and mascot of Cottage Copy (although he prefers it when you call him “Sir”). He refuses to eat anything that has fewer calories than a Twinkie, and he’s a big fan of swimming on hot days. He prefers to listen to cheesy 80′s music in car.
