Holly is off to Paris today so I’m handling the round up this week.
She promises to send fabulous photos for us though. And to blog from Europe!
Item One: On Safety in Visibility
Before Holly hopped on her plane, she wanted me to share this great post from Havi with you on how being big can make you feel safer. As always, Havi makes you feel less afraid of biggification, especially when you create a great community around your business.
Item Two: On Facebook Ads and a Little Cottage Copy Transparency
I might be taking a risk in sharing what Cottage Copy does for its marketing behind the scenes, but some of you might find this interesting. Especially if you are Facebook people, or have been thinking of dabbling in FB for business.
I know a lot of us may find ads annoying. Especially if they’re irrelevant. They start to become white noise in the backdrop that we all learn to tune out. But I’ve been playing with Facebook Ads for Cottage Copy’s business page (as I slowly teach Holly that FB, while making very dumb privacy mistakes, isn’t as evil to technophobes as she thinks), and I’ve found them to be surprisingly effective. So effective, in fact, that we’ve doubled our “likes” in just 48 hours. And how much have we paid for all these lovely new people who might come to love our itty biz as much as we do?
Twelve dollars and forty-one cents.
That is 33 cents per new lead.
That is a very good investment. I am going to play even more.
Item Three: On New TweetDecks
The new upgraded TweetDeck now does scheduled tweets, for all of you tech people who’ve always wanted this feature. Along with Google Buzz and Foursquare in what looks like a massive upgrade of the app. I love TweetDeck. I do. I have it on all the time. If only it’d do link stats like Hootsuite does.
Then I’d completely cheat on Hootsuite for TweetDeck.
Item Four: On Wookie Noises
This is not really a round up item. More like a testimonial. Holly has always stated that Didy sounds like a wookie when he’s growling over something that’s his. No one has believed her. I am here to say this: I have heard the wookie noise. It. Is. Real.
That’s all for this week! Have a great Memorial Day weekend!
