On Progress.

The last couple days have not been ideal around here, for the record.  I have a horrible flu,  and I’ve been working my butt off around the clock for the business.  I woke up today really discouraged.  The little evil voice in the back of my brain said, “But you’re doing all this work and nothing is happening!”  I spent a lot of time with that little voice this morning, while being sick and writing papers for finals. I finally sat down and made one of those annoying little lists that you do when you’re horribly frustrated and need something to waste time on, and it surprised me.

In my first two weeks as an official business I have:

1. Started negotiations for a website partnership.

2. Published two articles on Associated Content.

3. Had several client inquiries.

4. Had several jobs.

5. Made a ton of contacts.  Not only are these people useful in a business sense, but they are fun and wonderful people and I wish I’d met them earlier.

Most importantly, I have not torn my hair out or had a total panic attack or just given up completely. Creating a business isn’t a sprint; it’s something that is calculated and needs an infrastructure to really work long term.  I trust the infrastructure that I’ve built up, even if I have moments where I think I’m not making as much money as I’d like.

I don’t have a moral for the end of this (morals are overated anyway), but I am grateful for what I’ve accomplished so far.  Much of it has relied on the kindness of total internet strangers, and I appreciate every last one of you
